Theos Mekhanes
Drawing Ézéquiel Garcia-Romeu
Theos Mekhanes It stages a family portrait where an artificial consciousness has dispossessed them of their brains. We will use artificial consciousness as a metaphor for a superior entity to which they totally obey, absolving them of responsibility for their actions. This entity replaces their critical thinking, plunging them into the hypnotic illusion of internal dialogues to which they grant the authority of truth.
Are they really members of the same family? We will find out at the end of the show. They are for us portraits of contemporary men, women, and children, evolving in an environment that influences their destinies, and which we could compare to our current world.
On stage, a male actor and two female actors, like the Three Fates or the Three Norns, work to manipulate and shape the destiny of our characters.
This show is a search for society in miniature, with notes of humour, satire, the absurd, and poetic and symbolic imagery. The situation evolves and exhausts itself, like a toy whose spring has run down to a state of rest, or has been compressed so strongly that it has snapped under the tension. After which, as if through a kaleidoscope, we find ourselves in another situation, or perhaps another perspective. Thus, piece by piece, we assemble a broken image.
