La Méridienne

A show for one spectator and a microscopic puppet, La Méridienne tells the story of the the fragility of human thought in front of the passage of time.

The audience is first gathered around a meal, then invited individually to leave the table to watch the performance alone.

Facing the sole spectator, a skylight; behind the skylight, the tiny curtain stage. The puppet showman, invisible and tucked away in his theatre, begins the narration of a silent parable. In three movements, he shows us the whole life of humanity: birth, life and its apprenticeships, then disappearance within the universe.

It's as if everything is happening in a dream. This miniature seems to speak and transmit a message from the depths of the ages, and to act in the deepest recesses of the viewer's mind, where all these questions lie.

Once everyone has received their share of representation, it will be up to them to transform their individual impressions into a collective memory before they leave.
